Welcome message from your CUA 2016 President
Vancouver is an enticing location for the 71st Annual Meeting of the Canadian Urological Association. This cosmopolitan coastal city is a multi-cultural gem nestled between the Burrard Inlet to the north, the Fraser River to the south and the Strait of Georgia to the west. On a clear day, The Lions of the North Shore Mountains dominate the cityscape. Vancouver has one of the largest urban parks in North America, and access to Stanley Park and the seafront is only a few minutes’ walk from the CUA headquarters hotel: The Westin Bayshore. A chic modern city in a beautiful natural setting will offer something for everyone!
Ben Chew and Alan So, our Scientific Program Committee Co-Chairs, are heading up a team of community and academic urologists to create a top notch educational event. Distinguished international visiting professors and Canadian opinion leaders will be there to provide up to date continuing medical education opportunities for all members. Canadian urologists and trainees will also have the opportunity to present their research discoveries.
Our Local Organizing Committee Chairs, Andrew MacNeily and Amina Zoubeidi are working in concert with the CUA Corporate Office to ensure that this meeting will be one to remember for its social events. The venues, food and drink for the planned evening activities will reflect the flavours of Vancouver and its dynamic food scene.
We invite you to extend your stay after the meeting to explore the natural beauty of Vancouver, the lower mainland of BC, or Vancouver Island. From hiking to whale watching to summer skiing on the glacier at Whistler, there are plenty of things to do! Plan to come to the west coast in June 2016 to enrich your mind and relax your spirit.
CUA 2016 President,
